Should Books Be Turned Into Movies? – Episode 067

April 27, 2016

We’re experimenting with a new segment on Media Carnivores. We start with a check-in about our writing and publishing. We talk about what we’re working on, ask for advice, and generally open up about the “behind the scenes” work of making a living with your writing.

Our second half covers the main topic of the day, which in this case is about the movie adaptations of books. Why do some books make great movies, but so often the movie falls short of our expectations? We cover some of the best and worst movie adaptations and talk about Brent’s adaptation of his own book into a script.

(Note: if you want to jump forward to the main topic of the episode, it starts at timecode 9:40.)
